The New Orleans Pelicans have officially signed guard Jalen Crutcher, the team announced today. As per team policy, the terms of Crutcher’s deal have not been disclosed.
Crutcher, a 6-foot-2 guard, played 33 games last season for the Pelicans’ G League affiliate, the Birmingham Squadron.
During his time with the Squadron, Crutcher averaged 15.8 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 5.8 assists in 34.5 minutes per game.
He displayed consistency throughout his G League career, appearing in 136 games across three seasons.
Crutcher holds career averages of 16.0 points, 5.4 assists, and 3.1 rebounds over 34.2 minutes per contest.
A product of the University of Dayton, Crutcher has steadily improved since turning professional.
His performance in the G League caught the attention of the Pelicans’ front office, leading to this new opportunity.
In a corresponding roster move, the Pelicans have waived guard Galen Robinson Jr.
Robinson spent last season with the team’s G League affiliate but will now explore other options.
