Shaun Livingston recently revealed that Golden State Warriors players were in awe when Kevin Durant joined the team. The Warriors had already won a championship before Durant’s arrival, making his addition a highly anticipated event.

Livingston shared his surprise in a conversation on the Knuckleheads podcast. “When KD came in, it was a shock,” Livingston said, via HoopsHype. He recounted seeing the news of Durant’s signing while in a barber’s chair and showing the barber, who was equally stunned.

The reaction was even more intense when Durant arrived at training camp. “I remember watching him warm up and go through his workout for the first time. I was just sitting there like a fan,” Livingston added. He noted that despite having already won a championship, the team was excited to see Durant in action.

Livingston had played with Durant during his early years with the Oklahoma City Thunder, making the experience of watching him on the Warriors all the more striking. “We already won a championship by this time. We felt like we were made men, but we were watching him like a fan,” he said.
