The Minnesota Timberwolves began the Western Conference Finals on Wednesday for the first time in 20 years. Part-owner Alex Rodriguez, who won a championship with the New York Yankees in 2009, brings experience to the team’s leadership.

Rodriguez, along with Mark Lore, purchased the Timberwolves in 2021. He described the opportunity as a “dream,” despite originally aiming to own the New York Mets. The investment in the Timberwolves has proven highly rewarding for him.

“We’ve been thrilled. We’ve been involved for three years, and the team is doing pretty well,” Rodriguez said in a recent interview with Fox News.

During Sunday’s Game 7 of the second round, Alex Rodriguez was acting like a kid again, shouting “Let’s f—ing go” in the final seconds as the Timberwolves clinched their series against the reigning champions, the Denver Nuggets.

“I was with my girlfriend in Game 7 in a very hostile environment playing the great reigning world champions, and if you listened to my girlfriend, she told me I needed Lysol because I stunk so much,” Rodriguez, one of Lysol’s newest partners, said.

“I was wearing a pinstriped suit, and she thought I was wearing my Yankees pinstripes because I was so stinky and sweaty. I had to change on the plane right away, because it was a very stressful, high-energy game, and I’m so happy and proud of our guys that they pulled it off.”
