The Damian Lillard trade from the Portland Trail Blazers to the Milwaukee Bucks sent shockwaves across the NBA community during the offseason.
For Jrue Holiday, the 2021 NBA champion, the trade came as a surprise, with the Bucks management informing him of the move just moments before it became official.
Recalling the moment, Holiday humorously recounted how he was caught off guard while taking a nap, receiving calls from both the general manager and his agent alerting him of the trade.
Despite being a key player in the exchange for Lillard, Holiday admitted feeling blindsided by the suddenness of the news, highlighting his wish for more advance notice and transparency from the Bucks organization.
“I had no clue… It was just a shock because at least let me know 24 hours in advance, not 5 minutes in advance… I won [a championship] there,” Holiday said.
