San Antonio Spurs forward Marcus Morris has reached an agreement for a buyout with the team, paving the way for his free agency.

According to NBA insider Shams Charania, Morris has agreed to a contract buyout with the Spurs to become a free agent, granting him playoff eligibility and the opportunity to join a postseason contender.

Morris’s tenure with the Spurs was brief, as he was acquired in a trade at the deadline, involving the Indiana Pacers, but did not appear in any games for San Antonio before the buyout.

During the current season, Morris has maintained averages of 6.7 points and 2.9 rebounds in 17.2 minutes per game while playing for the Philadelphia 76ers.

The veteran forward’s decision to seek a buyout comes as he looks to explore opportunities with teams in contention for the playoffs.
