Miami Heat forward Haywood Highsmith was involved in a car accident after the team’s win over the Magic, leaving a man critically injured. Highsmith reportedly hit a man assisting another driver, resulting in a partial leg amputation for the victim.

Highsmith himself emerged unharmed from the crash. Following the incident, the Heat decided to sideline Highsmith for their next game against the Spurs.

“We have been made aware that Highsmith was involved in a car accident heading home from last night’s game. Highsmith is listed as out for tonight’s contest against the San Antonio Spurs due to Personal Reasons.

“Our hearts go out to those who were injured. We will have no further comment at this time.”
