Former NBA player Eric Montross, known for his standout college career at North Carolina, passed away at the age of 52. Montross, a seven-foot center, played eight seasons in the NBA and was drafted by the Celtics in 1994.
Despite beginning his career with promise, he faced a trade to Dallas after two years in Boston.
Throughout his career, Montross played for various teams, including the Nets, Sixers, Pistons, and Raptors, before retiring after the 2001/02 season.
His family expressed gratitude for the support received during his battle with cancer, noting his determination and grace.
Montross began cancer treatments in March.
