When the Dallas Mavericks secured Kristaps Porzingis in 2019, the anticipation was palpable, envisioning a formidable duo alongside Luka Doncic.

Despite the high hopes, the partnership didn’t quite materialize as expected, leading to Porzingis’ trade to the Washington Wizards during his third year with the Mavericks.

Now with the Boston Celtics, Porzingis reflects on what could have been, suggesting that a different approach, specifically a better explanation of analytics, might have fostered success with Doncic

In a conversation with former NBA player JJ Redick on The Old Man & The Three podcast, Porzingis admitted, “I wasn’t into analytics and numbers… If somebody presented it to me the right way and said, ‘This is what we need to do,’ I think that would’ve made a difference.”
