The modern NBA is full of international players. Former NBA coach George Karl was asked recently by Brandon “Scoop B” Robinson on Scoop B Radio about the international players that he enjoys watching.

Karl revealed that used to like Giannis Antetokounmpo a lot, but this season he was taken over by Shai Gilgeous-Alexander.

“The country I really enjoy watching because I don’t look at them as international is Canada. It’s Canada! Canada is producing a lot of really good basketball players,” Karl said. “Giannis was probably my favorite up until this year; SGA’s a Canadian so I don’t know if that makes him international or not.

He admitted that he is not the biggest fan of Luka Doncic for his ball-dominant style of play. Karl is also excited to see what the future holds for Victor Wembanyama.

“I’m not a big fan of Luka — I just don’t like him palming the ball all the time and it’s just not my style. I want him to play more together. But I think that we’re all blessed right now with that tall skinny guy down there in San Antonio… What the hell is HE gonna be? I think that’s going to be really interesting,” Karl said.
