In a heartfelt decision, New Orleans Pelicans guard Jose Alvarado has pledged to allocate the $500,000 prize money from the NBA In-Season Tournament, should his team emerge victorious, to his beloved daughters.

The Pelicans secured a spot in the tournament’s semifinal, setting the stage for a compelling showdown with the Los Angeles Lakers in Las Vegas.

As the inaugural In-Season Tournament introduces substantial prize money, Alvarado, demonstrating his selfless commitment to family, shared his plans with Marc J. Spears of Andscape. “I will not touch the money,” affirmed Alvarado, emphasizing his desire to secure a bright future for his daughters.

Detailing his approach, Alvarado expressed his intention to let his financial team manage the funds as if he never received them, ensuring the money serves its intended purpose.

“I ain’t struggling now. I’m blessed to be financially good. So why do I need to add that extra load? Let that grow and let them have it,” he declared, highlighting his dedication to easing any potential future burdens for his children.
