During the current season, Ivey is averaging 11.8 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 3.1 assists in 22.7 minutes per game— a significant drop from his rookie stats of 16.3 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 5.2 assists in 31.1 minutes per game.
Last season, Ivey started in 73 out of 74 games, showcasing his potential as a key player for the Pistons. However, the current season has seen Ivey’s appearances limited to just 5 out of 15 games.
According to Jake Fischer of Yahoo Sports, tension is building among Detroit decision-makers regarding Ivey’s inconsistent role under Williams, who signed a lucrative five-year, $78.5 million contract in the offseason. Pistons faithful online have also expressed their dissatisfaction.
