
The Los Angeles Lakers are exploring several veteran options to fill their backup center role behind Walker Kessler after trading Deandre Ayton to the Washington Wizards.
According to league sources, Andre Drummond, Jonas Valanciunas, and Kevon Looney are among the players under consideration as Los Angeles looks to add experience and depth to its frontcourt.
Valanciunas is currently under contract with the Denver Nuggets on a $10 million deal, although his salary is not guaranteed until July 8.
Last season, he appeared in 65 games and averaged 8.7 points, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.2 assists in 13.4 minutes per game.
Drummond played in 63 games for the Philadelphia 76ers during the 2025-26 season, averaging 6.4 points, 8.4 rebounds, and 1.3 assists in 19.5 minutes.
Looney spent last season with the New Orleans Pelicans, appearing in 21 games and averaging 2.8 points, 5.6 rebounds, and 1.6 assists in 14.6 minutes per contest.
