Golden State Warriors guard Chris Paul faced an early exit against the Phoenix Suns, ejected for two technical fouls in a dispute with referee Scott Foster.

Dubs head coach Steve Kerr expressed disagreement, believing that Paul’s ejection was unwarranted and costly for the Warriors, who eventually lost the game.

“I think Scott just felt like Chris didn’t stop and he kept going, and that’s why he gave him the second one. So that was his explanation,” Kerr said postgame.

“I didn’t think Chris deserved to be ejected. The first tech? Absolutely. But I thought the second one was unnecessary. Everybody gets frustrated out there, but that’s up to the official.”

In an intriguing twist, the 38-year-old guard revealed in the postgame press conference that his issues with Foster trace back to a past incident, involving a situation with Paul’s son.
