After a disappointing season opener loss to the Charlotte Hornets (110-116), Atlanta Hawks’ star, Trae Young, shouldered the responsibility and pledged to improve his performance.

Despite Young’s impressive contribution with a team-high 23 points and 9 assists, the Hawks fell short of securing the victory.

Reflecting on the game, Young expressed his dissatisfaction with the team’s offense, which had struggled during the preseason as well.

“I think we played good in spurts, we had good moments, the offense has not clicked the way we want it to, even in the preseason it did not click the way that we wanted it to,” Young said, per Jackson Caudell of Sports Illustrated.

“I gotta play better… I didn’t wanna play like that, I’m not going to play like that,” Young declared.
