Ioannis Papapetrou is set to undergo arthroscopy due to persistent discomfort in his left knee throughout the majority of the 2023-24 season.

Panathinaikos has decided to keep the Greek forward on the sidelines for a minimum of six weeks, with the potential for his return extending up to two months, contingent on the rehabilitation process.

During the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season, Papapetrou missed two games but returned in Round 2, contributing eight points, four rebounds, and one steal over 24 minutes in a victorious home game against FC Bayern Munich.

However, he was absent in Round 1 against Olympiacos and Round 3 against Fenerbahce Beko, both resulting in losses for the team under the coaching of Ergin Ataman.
