The New York Knicks will guarantee Jericho Sims’ salary for the 2023-24 season, per Fred Katz of The Athletic. Today is the salary guarantee deadline for the big man’s contract.

From a $600K partially guaranteed earnings, Sims will now gain $1.2MM upon this intents by the Knicks to keep him on their roster.

Sims, 24, has been a reliable insurance big man under coach Tom Thibodeau. Serving behind the likes of Mitchell Robinson and Isaiah Hartenstein, he averaged 3.4 points and 4.7 boards in 52 regular season games last 2022-23. 

He wasn’t able to fully participate in New York’s recent postseason campaign after he underwent surgery to repair the torn labrum and cuff tendon in his right shoulder last April.

Sims, who is expected to be ready in the club’s September training camp, is under a team option rights for the Knicks on the 2024-25 season.
