Celtics All-NBA forward Jayson Tatum talked to the media after he dropped 51 points leading Boston to a 112-88 victory on Sunday to advance to the Eastern Conference finals.

Tatum scored the most in a Game 7 in NBA history. Jayson finished 17 of 28 from the field and added 13 rebounds and five assists, the fifth player in NBA history with 50-10-5 in a playoff game (per ESPN Stats).

“I was relieved just to get another chance. Our season could have been over after Game 6,” Tatum said, via ESPN. “It definitely was on my mind that I had played as bad as it could get, for 43 minutes.

“We had a saying: ‘It’s only up from here.’”
