The Warriors took a 3-2 lead in the first round series against the Kings by winning Game 5 in Sacramento (123-116).

Draymond Green, who came off the bench for the second straight game, scored 21 points, 4 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals.

It was his season-high in terms of scoring. The four-time NBA champion is mostly known for contributing in ways other than scoring.

After the game Green talked about how he was able to make such a big impact on the offensive end.

“In Game 4 I was extremely aggressive I thought and I just missed layups,” the 33-year-old forward said. “I told you after the game, I missed six layups and I’ll make those.

“So tonight, coming into the game, I just knew where my spots would be. That’s one of the luxuries of coming off the bench. You can kind of feel the game out, see what’s going on. If there’s a need for something, you can come in and assert yourself into that need or if you see something that’s working, you can go and fill that.

“Having an opportunity to watch from the bench for the first six minutes and see how you pick up the floor game I think has been big and then also understanding where my spots are going to be.

“For the last two, two and a half days I’ve been in the gym every day working on those things. Exactly where I know those shots are going to come from. And tonight the layups went down, I didn’t miss them tonight.”

Green is averaging 11.3 points, 6.8 rebounds, 7.5 assists and 2.3 steals per game in this year’s playoffs.
