Draymond Green didn’t mince words when discussing the impact of Minnesota Timberwolves guard Anthony Edwards on the defensive prowess of Rudy Gobert, acknowledging Gobert’s improvement on the defensive end.

In a recent episode of The Draymond Green Show, Green commended Edwards for his ability to challenge and elevate Gobert’s defensive intensity, stating that Gobert is “not trash anymore” due to his heightened defensive awareness.

Green highlighted Gobert’s enhanced defensive versatility, noting his improved performance on switches and his proactive approach to guarding opponents.

“What Anthony Edwards has taken those guys and done is absolutely amazing. Like Rudy’s actually not trash anymore. A lot of people agree, he defends now…,” Green said, via Joey Mistretta of ClutchPoints.

“But I mean like when you see him on the switches he’s up at the level, he’s not just sitting back at the drop anymore. When he gets switched on to the guy, it’s like his antennas pop on, like oh I got to sit down they’re about to go at me and guard them.

“I think it’s been interesting to watch because he is actually impacting winning and he’s actually doing that on the defensive end where as opposed to other series he’s gotten played off the floor.”

The ongoing beef between Green and Gobert, which dates back several years, reached a boiling point this season when Green was suspended for putting Gobert in a chokehold during a regular-season game.
