Following the Los Angeles Lakers early playoff exit, rumors started swirling about the future of Darvin Ham, suggesting that the second-year coach could get fired by the team.

Golden State Warriors forward Draymond Green, a fellow native of Saginaw, MI, thinks that it is not fair to blame Ham for the Lakers’ season, considering that the team had not improved since last year.

“I think there’s a lot of uncertainty coming out of that organization,” Green said on The Draymond Green Show. What’s going to happen with Darvin Ham? Me personally, I think it’ll wrong to fire him for multiple reasons.

“However, he’ll catch a lot of flack for the season that they had. But their roster didn’t get better than last year and they were a play-in team. Yeah, they made it to the Conference Finals with LeBron James and Anthony Davis playing the way that they were playing, but they didn’t get better.

“They lost Dennis Schroder. I don’t think they replaced him well. Gabe Vincent didn’t bring anything to the season. Obviously he was hurt. But even once he got in, he didn’t shoot the ball well. Schroder was huge for them and they lost him…

“Hopefully, they don’t just fire Darvin as if it’s just his fault and no one else’s fault. I think that’s garbage. But that’s neither here, not there.”

For the second year in a row, the Lakers had to go through the Play-In Tournament in order to qualify for the playoffs. Unlike last season, this time the Purple and Gold went out in the first round.
