As it was reported, Joel Embiid is set to miss Game 4 due to a knee injury that he sustained in Game 3 against the Nets.

According to NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski, there is optimism that the Cameroonian superstar could return to the lineup early next week.

Joel Embiid underwent an MRI on his right knee back in Philadelphia, has a sprained right knee. He’s out tomorrow for Game 4 against the Brooklyn Nets,” Woj said on ESPN. “There’s optimism that Embiid could be back in the lineup as soon as early next week.

“Game 4 with the Sixers leading 3-0 tomorrow. They play again on Monday in Philadelphia if necessary Game 5. And then they’re off again till Thursday, a potential Game 6 if the Sixers were to be without Embiid and lose…

“If the Sixers can get past the Nets here, there’s optimism that Embiid would not miss time in the next round.”

Embiid is averaging 20 points, 11.3 rebounds and 4 assists in 36 minutes over three playoff games.
