The Trail Blazers missed the playoffs for the second year in a row as they finished 13th in the Western Conference.

The new-look Portland roster without CJ McCollum did not fare well this season and the team’s head coach Chauncey Billups says changes are necessary, especially ‘to do right by’ Damian Lillard.

“We’ve done the ‘tweak’ thing a few times. We’ve got to do more than that this summer if we want to do right by the best player in franchise history,” he said, via Sean Highkin.

“I really look forward to having the opportunity to coach a really competitive team and show my growth.”

Recently Billups said that the Blazers need to add experience and length to the roster which he described as ‘babies.’
