During his second season with the Lakers, Russell Westbrook was demoted to a bench role. He was tasked with being the leader of the second unit for the Purple and Gold.

The former NBA MVP received praise from Lakers head coach Darvin Ham for being willing to accept such a role. Russ says the experience is past.

“It was an experience. I’m past it now, in a new place, and looking forward,” Westbrook said, via Tomer Azarly.

Westbrook is averaging 15.1 points, 4.7 rebounds and 7.6 assists in 30 minutes per game for the Clippers as a starter.
