Steph Curry has not played since early February when he went out with a lower leg injury. There is optimism that the four-time NBA champion could return to action next week.

NBA insider Shams Charania provided more information on what the Warriors’ plans for Curry are.

“He’s making some good progress I’m told,” he said on FanDuel TV. “He’s started practicing with G League players this week scrimmaging, taking some contact.

“I think the hope is that he is going to be back sooner than later. He’s missed a few weeks with that. He’s got some tears in his knee or his leg area.

“So the hope is he’s back sooner than later. The goal is for the Warriors to continue to get him some more contact, some more scrimmages this week, next week and that point make a return.”

This season Curry is averaging 29.4 points, 6.3 rebounds and 6.4 assists in 34.6 minutes per game.
