Luka Doncic is the newest one to jump on the Jrue Holiday praise train.

Following the Dallas Mavericks’ tough loss against the Milwaukee Bucks, Doncic described Holiday as “one of the best if not the best guard defender” for him while questioning the notion that he wasn’t able to grab a Defensive Player of the Year honors in his career.

“Jrue is one of the best if not the best guard defender for me,” Doncic said. “He don’t get a lot of praise for how he can guard. So for me, it’s very tough to go against him. I’m surprised he was never DPOY or something.”

Coming from Doncic, who is an undisputed phenom and a continuing emerging darling in the association, this commendation can only solidify Holiday’s case as one of the admired best defenders in the game.

But before the Slovenian sensation, some other stars in the likes of Kevin Durant and Damian Lillard had given their flowers on the guard’s defensive prowess.

Holiday serves as a defensive engine of Milwaukee on the perimeter, and has been a menace ever since their title year in 2021.
