Both Royce O’Neale and Nic Claxton have no concerns on how the Brooklyn Nets will approach their upcoming games when Kyrie Irving officially makes a return.

O’Neale sticks up to his belief that the Nets can continue to maintain their system as Irving comes back possibly soon.

“The same way we’ve been doing,” O’Neale told ClutchPoints’ Erik Slater about how the Nets can hold their basketball structure when Irving returns. “He’s a great player, an All-Star. I mean, I feel like we can adapt to whoever. We know he brings what to the table and we need that going forward.”

Irving has been out and suspended on the Nets’ team activities since Nov. 3 after failing to condemn his antisemitic stances following his controversial promotion of a 2018 film filled with hate conspiracies against the Jewish community.

Despite his absence, the Nets are steamrolling and found a great footing amid disasters with Jacque Vaughn taking over as their newest head coach. For their last four games with Irving out, Brooklyn carved out a solid 3-1 record stretch.

As such, Claxton blocked the idea that the Nets are adapting a new style with the All-Star point guard out.

“Nah. I feel like once we get him back, the way we’re playing right now, it’s going to break the game wide open. He can adapt to any system, and you know, that’s 30 points we’re missing out there.”

The Nets will take on the Los Angeles Lakers on Saturday with hopes to continue their rise atop the East standings.
