Tensions appear continuing to rise down in the Brooklyn camp, as Cam Thomas’ shady Instagram activities are adding up some fuel to their burning 2022-23 season.

Following the Nets’ sixth loss of the season this time around against the Chicago Bulls, Thomas posted a cryptic IG story that may suggest frustration out of his current state in the ball club. And to add up, he also changed his account biography that states “#FreeCT” with chain emojis.

He eventually deleted these and already nowhere to be found in his account.

A former five-star recruit in college, Thomas was selected by the Nets for the 27th pick of the 2021 Draft. He enjoyed plenty of exposure in his rookie year last season as he brought that scoring prowess he possesses, averaging 8.5 points, 2.4 boards, 1.2 assists in 43.3 percent shooting across 67 games.

But in this season, he hasn’t gained much playing time from now departed Steve Nash. Throughout the team’s eight games, he only received 15 minutes of play, wherein 13 of it came from their opener against the New Orleans Pelicans. It can already be seen from last week that Thomas was disgruntled on his playing time based on what he told to Ethan Sears of the New York Post.

“Of course,” Thomas replied, when asked by The Post whether [his playing time] was frustrating, before he again did not play in the Nets’ 129-125 overtime loss to the Mavericks on Thursday night at Barclays Center.

As the Nets are now currently on the hunt for someone who can save their season, Thomas can only hope that the next head coach will give him a justifiable room to develop and maximize his potential.
