The Brooklyn Nets player Joe Harris said he was “surprised” at the timing of Steve Nash leaving, and shared Nash did not have a chance to address the team before his departure:
“Everyone across the board in that locker room, we all love and appreciate Steve [Nash] for everything he’s done for this organization.”
Steve Nash became the Nets’ head coach in 2020 and had two years left on a four-year contract. Both sides mutually agreed to part ways after a 2-5 start to the season.
