The Sacramento Kings have found themselves landing in a familiar place as they crumbled against the Memphis Grizzlies, 125-110. They are still riding a winless campaign and are yet to make a statement around the league after an offseason filled with high hopes

For De’Aaron Fox, there’s no reason to be worried about their poor beginnings, but he reiterates the urgency around the club to completely make a needed turnaround.

“It’s a long season, so you don’t want to put your head down after the first four games,” Fox told Sacramento Bee’s Jason Anderson. “But we know we have to turn this thing around and it’s as simple as that.”

Despite a good fight, the Kings went tumbling and gained their fourth-straight loss to commence the new season. Fox dropped 27 markers to outlast Ja Morant’s 22 points, but it wasn’t enough to match up the team effort that the Grizzlies showed.

Morant’s backcourt mate, Desmond Bane, catches fire and goes off with 31 points (six threes), six rebounds, and four assists. The other five members of their supporting cast managed to drop double-digit scoring to outweigh what the Kings performed on Thursday evening.

The loss serves as a reminder that in order to break their ongoing curse, they have to beat outstanding teams all the way through collective contributions.

“If we want to be where we want to be at the end of the season, we have to be able to beat good teams,” Fox said. “Good teams beat good teams.”

Sacramento will look to bounce back and finally get on the win board as they face the Miami Heat at the finale of their two-game home stand on Saturday.
