In light of their poor start this season, Kevin Durant can only generalize what the Brooklyn Nets have to address moving forward.

“Everything,” Durant told reporters when he was asked what the Nets should clean up. “You look at your whole team and look at all your schemes and just try to fine-tune it all.”

Brooklyn pulled up a solid fight to defend their home crowd in Barclays Center this Thursday evening, but the road team Dallas Mavericks snatched up the close contest. Behind Luka Doncic’s triple-double magic of 41 points, 14 assists and 11 rebounds that was aided by the collective contribution of his supporting cast wherein five tallied double-digit scoring, the Mavs rallied to escape a 129-125 victory in overtime.

For the Nets fans, it was painful to see that their team continued crashing at the bottom part of the league’s record ladder. Despite the marvelous efforts of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving on their combined 76-point show, the Nets weren’t able to break through the slump.

But for head coach Steve Nash, the recent defeat gives a rare bright spot that they need as they continue the season.

“I thought we sustained our intensity. I thought we played a more complete game, so I think that’s growth,” Nash said after the game. “We’ve had some big pockets where we had let downs or sort of got away from our principles, but tonight I thought there was a much better overall effort.”

The Nets will look to regroup on Saturday as they face the young Indiana Pacers for the first part of their back-to-back duel.
