The 76ers opened the 2022-2023 NBA season with a road loss against last year’s Eastern Conference champions the Celtics (117-126).

Philadelphia couldn’t stop Boston’s stars Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown as they scored 35 points apiece. Four starters scored 18 points or more for the Sixers with James Harden leading the charge with 35 points.

However, the bench production was way less. Five players that came off the bench for Philly off bench combined for just 11 points. The team’s head coach Doc Rivers was not happy about that.

“There’s going to be a night where two guys score 30 and 40. I liked how the starters played overall, I didn’t like how our bench played overall,” Rivers said after the game.
