Orlando Magic’s Jalen Suggs sustained a left knee injury during a preseason encounter against the Dallas Mavericks on Friday.

After an unintentional shove by Spencer Dinwiddie, Suggs collided his knee on Dorian Finney-Smith. The guard was limping in pain while holding his knee and eventually headed to the locker room.

Suggs was announced unavailable to return. As such, the Magic declared that he suffered from a “lower left leg injury” and will take further testing to determine the severity of it.

The fifth overall pick of last year’s draft, Suggs entered the league as a standout floor general of the Gonzaga Bulldogs. As such, he struggled in his first year battling right thumb injury and right ankle woes.

In 48 games played last season, Suggs averaged 11.8 points, 3.6 boards and 4.4 dimes in an inconsistent 36.1 percent shooting from the field.
