LeBron James repeats intention of owning an NBA team in Vegas: ‘I would love to bring a team here at some point’

The dream of owning an NBA team in Vegas stands glowing for LeBron James.

Following the Los Angeles Lakers’ 119-115 preseason defeat against the Phoenix Suns within the energetic T-Mobile Arena, James addressed the media and delivered an empathic statement regarding a league franchise in Las Vegas.

“I would love to bring a team here at some point,” James said with a smile on his face (h/t Sam Gordon of Las Vegas Review-Journal). “That would be amazing.”

Following that, he called up NBA commissioner Adam Silver to express his intent.

“I want the team here, Adam,” James said. “Thank you.”

James, who is the first active NBA player in history to breach within the $1 billion net worth, already expressed his motives of owning a ball club in Las Vegas on “The Shop: Uninterrupted” back in June.

With Seattle, Vegas has been a frequent ingredient of cities being rumored as potential landing spots of league expansion. Due to its big market tendencies and enchanting reputation of being the “Entertainment Capital of the World,” the place appears ideal for what the league aspires for if they want to extend their influence and revenue.

As of now, it remains uncertain if the association will soon announce a potential expansion.
