Kevin Durant’s name was probably the most used this past summer after he requested a trade from the Nets. Several potential trades circulated in the media.
One of them was a potential trade between Brooklyn and Boston in which the Celtics would have sent Jaylen Brown, among other players.
When the rumors were published in the media, it caused some tension between the player and his team. Brown, along with Jayson Tatum, are the primary stars for the Celtics and parting with one of them was seen as a bold move.
According to Marcus Smart, his teammate handled the trade rumors in a great way. He reminds that it’s a business first.
“(Brown’s) handled it great,” Smart said. “He walks around with a smile on his face. We actually haven’t even mentioned it when we were together. We were just talking about the upcoming season and getting ourselves ready, but he’s great. He’s handling it as professionally as he can and my advice is, to anybody, don’t forget it’s a business first.”
