Donovan Mitchell is set to enter a new stage in his career, but those precious memories of being with the Utah Jazz will always remain indelible in his heart and mind forever.

The All-star guard wrote a special farewell post in Instagram this Friday, expressing his warmest love and gratitude for the Utah faithful and his former mentor Quin Snyder.

Selected by the Jazz for the 13th pick of the 2017 Draft, Mitchell rose to prominence and stardom as a young rookie out of Louisville.

His flashy explosiveness, elite scoring, and ability to cut through the basket propelled the Jazz to enter the West Semis stage of 2018 postseason, one year since former star Gordon Hayward left to become a member of the Boston Celtics.

He further helped the franchise to reach greater heights, powering them to four more years of playoff appearance and the best regular season record in 2020-2021 campaign. With that, Mitchell also built a name for himself, gaining three NBA All-star game appearances from 2020 to 2022.

To prepare for their upcoming long-term rebuild, the Jazz shipped Mitchell to the Cleveland Cavaliers for Lauri Markkanen, Ochair Agbaji, Collin Sexton, three unprotected first-round picks and two pick swaps. As such, he can’t ask for more ideal place to land, as he becomes the newest centerpiece for the Cavs franchise.
