Veteran power forward D.J. White, who was drafted with the 29th pick of the 2008 NBA draft by the Detroit Pistons and traded the same day to the Seattle SuperSonics, is calling it a career, having confirmed in an Instagram post that he intends to retire as a player.

“You are never ready for it to be over, but I’m ready for what’s next,” White wrote as part of a larger statement.
