LeBron James has full support of Rob Pelinka, the vice president of basketball operations and general manager of the Lakers.

In a recent meeting between the four-time NBA champion and the executive, the latter expressed his desire for James to retire as a Laker and promised LeBron that he would do what it takes to make Los Angeles compete for a championship every year that the superstar is with the team.

Pelinka made his feelings clear that he wants James to retire as a Laker and promised to provide him with every resource possible to compete for a championship each year he’s with the organization, sources said.

Over the four years that James has spent with the Lakers, the team won a championship, missed the playoffs twice and once was eliminated in the first round.

Prior to coming to Los Angeles, James went to nine-straight NBA Finals, winning it all on three occasions.
