Chris Paul once again put up an impressive performance, helping the Suns win Game 2 of the second round series against the Mavericks.

The 36-year-old superstar scored 28 points, grabbed 6 rebounds and dished out 8 assists in 36 minutes of play. 14 of those points came in the fourth quarter when Phoenix rallied 40-26 to close the game (129-109).

Suns head coach Monty Williams praised Paul after game. “When he comes back to start the fourth for whatever reason, he’s fresh,” he said. “Sometimes I play him too much in the first and the third and I get a big concerned if I should start him in the fourth.

“But I’d love to sit here and tell you why or how he does it. I just think, I don’t know if our guys expected but I know they’re grateful for it. You kind of see it when he starts going. Everybody else just follows suit.

“But I think the stuff around him allows him to do it when DA and Biz, and JaVale are diving and we’re spaced properly it certainly helps him to get to his spots.

“He’s just a fantastic basketball player, and the thing I love about Chris is he just cares. You’ll see him in the game just coming over talking to me about the things he sees. I’ll tell him what I see and then he just goes out there and does his thing.”
