DeMarcus Cousins’ tenure with the Kings ended abruptly with both sides feeling bitter. It included tensions between the center and head coach George Karl.

In a recent interview the 31-year-old center, who is currently playing for the Nuggets, talked about how Sacramento did nothing for him while and it was him who did more for the team.

“What did Sac do for me? Besides say my name [draft day],” Cousins told Marc Stein of ANDSCAPE. “I did more for them than they did for me. That’s just being honest. Just being 100% honest. I had two owners, three GMs, seven coaches in seven years. I was there seven years. I had three GMs, two owners and seven coaches. Not much more needs to be said.”

His comments prompted a reaction from Karl who took to Twitter to respond. “Paid you approx $50M and gave you the opportunity to play professional basketball for a living,” the veteran coach tweeted along with thinking and blushing emojis.
