DeMarcus Cousins called out the Sacramento Kings’ management, warning that the team’s struggles will persist without leadership changes. “It’s bad. It’s been bad. It’s probably going to continue to be bad unless some things change at the top,” Cousins said on Run It Back, via HoopsHype.

Cousins criticized recent roster decisions, including the firing of coach Mike Brown and the trade of De’Aaron Fox. He suggested the franchise needed “to tweak it, add better pieces, do things of that nature to continue to improve.”

The Kings have stumbled to a 3-11 start in the 2025-26 season, including a 1-6 record on the road. Sacramento has lost five of its last six games, with recent defeats including a 123-110 loss to San Antonio and a 124-110 loss at Minnesota.

Sacramento’s struggles are compounded by inconsistent production from its stars. Zach LaVine leads the team with 22.7 points per game, while DeMar DeRozan averages 18.8 and Domantas Sabonis contributes 17.2 points and 12.3 rebounds per contest. Russell Westbrook is adding 14.4 points and 6.6 assists per game.

The team’s defensive metrics also reflect the losses, with opponents frequently exploiting mismatches in the paint and perimeter. Sacramento has allowed over 130 points in four of its last six contests.

Sacramento now faces a road-heavy schedule with upcoming games against Oklahoma City, Memphis, and Denver, giving little margin for error.
