Minnesota Timberwolves forward Anthony Edwards had himself a game, scoring 36 points in his NBA playoff debut against the Memphis Grizzlies on Saturday.

The T-Wolves went into the postseason as the seventh seed, having defeated the Los Angeles Clippers in the play-in tournament and have gone one better, upsetting Memphis with a 130-117 result in the first game of the series. The second-seeded Grizzlies are favored to progress but will be well aware that they are up against it after losing Game 1.

Edwards led all scorers on the night, posting 36 points on 52.2 percent shooting along with six assists and two rebounds in 40 minutes of action. Center Karl-Anthony Towns scored 29, grabbing 13 boards and three assists in the win while shooting guard Malik Beasley scored 23 off the bench.

The second game of this first-round series between these two teams will be played on Tuesday night.
