The Miami Heat have announced that center/forward Bam Adebayo has cleared the NBA’s health and safety protocols ahead of Sunday’s playoff opener against the Atlanta Hawks.

The Heat will host the Trae Young-led side at their FTX Arena after finishing the 2021/22 campaign as the first seed in the Eastern Conference, with the Hawks beating the Cleveland Cavaliers in the final play-in game to book themselves a spot in eighth.

Adebayo missed the last game of Miami’s regular season due to contracting COVID-19 but claimed to be asymptomatic. According to Joe Vardon of The Athletic, the DPOY candidate expects to play Game 1, which kicks off at 1:00 PM ET this Sunday.
