Luka Doncic faced his former coach Rick Carlisle as the Dallas Mavericks hosted the Indiana Pacers. It was the first time for the new Pacers coach when he visited the team that he coached for the last 10 years.
The Mavs recorded a 27-point win with Doncic leading the charge with 30 points, 6 rebounds and 12 assists. After the Carlisle spoke highly of the Slovenian star whom he coached for three years in Dallas.
“If he’s not the best player in the world, he’s right on the cusp. He’s so, so good,” Carlisle said, per Tim MacMahon. This season Doncic is averaging 25.4 points, 8.8 rebounds and 8.8 assists per game.
