Los Angeles Lakers assistant coach David Fizdale has entered the league’s health and safety protocols.

Fizdale took the temporary head coaching role upon Frank Vogel’s absence due to COVID-19 isolation on Dec. 19. In his short time handling the drawing board, the short-handed Lakers marred by unavailability issues and went on to a poor 1-5 record.

Fizdale joined his hometown squad Lakers’ coaching hub in the last offseason. He previously grabbed the New York Knicks’ coaching helm from 2018 to 2019.

The Lakers are filling the 7th spot of the Western Conference with a 19-19 win-loss card.
