Kyrie Irving is ready to make his debut for the Brooklyn Nets this season, with the franchise elected to let him play as a part-time player.

Irving cannot play in New York due to the citywide vaccination mandate, with the franchise sitting him out earlier in the season.

The franchise reversed its course earlier this month and allowed Irving to return for road games where eligible. Irving admitted he missed the game of basketball.

“Last night I could barely sleep. I’m like, man, I just don’t want to come out and not be who I know I am as a player… (My) heart racing and just not being nervous and touching the basketball again, and just the rhythm of the game. I missed it,” Irving said, per Brian Lewis of NY Post.

After immediately entering the health and safety protocols, Irving was cleared to rejoin the team on Tuesday. He will still miss games in New York, Toronto, and San Francisco.
