Nikola Mirotic was unstoppable on Friday night and helped FC Barcelona claim the victory in the first El Clasico of the EuroLeague season.

Mirotic stepped up with a career-best performance against his former team, as the Catalans rallied past Real Madrid at Palau Blaugrana (93-80).

The veteran forward set a new career-high with a performance index rating of 39. He also tied his career best in scoring with 31 points. In 29 minutes on the floor, Mirotic went 4-for-4 on two-pointers, 3-for-6 on triples and 14-for-15 at the free throw line.

He also completed a double-double with a game-high 10 rebounds to go with one assist and nine drawn fouls. This is Mirotic’s eighth MVP of the Round honor and second this season.

For its part, FC Barcelona now is on top of the EuroLeague standings with a 12-2 record. On the contrary, Real dropped to second, at 11-3.
