The losses of Serbia and Croatia headlined the third day of the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup Qualifiers in Europe.

The Serbians missed the chance to remain undefeated in Group A, following their 73-69 loss to Belgium. Therefore, Belgium closed the first window of the Qualifiers at 2-0, whereas Serbia dropped to 1-1. The other match of the group, Latvia vs Slovakia, will be played on Monday.

Croatia was unable to escape from Finland with a crucial road win and instead suffered its second defeat in Group C (77-71). As a result, the Croatians are still winless and dropped to 0-2, whereas Finland improved to 1-1. At the same time, Slovenia edged Sweden (94-89) and climbed to 2-0 on the table. For its part, Sweden is second, with an 1-1 record.

In Group B, Greece and Turkey bounced back from their losses in the opener of the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup Qualifiers. The Greeks rallied past Belarus (77-67), while the Turks dominated Great Britain (84-77). All four teams now have identical records (1-1).

In Group D, Israel defeated Eastonia on the road (69-79) and is the only unbeaten team of the group (2-0). Estonia dropped to 1-1 and has an identical record with Germany, which prevailed over Poland on the road (69-72). For its part, Poland has an 0-2 record after the first window.

The first window of the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup Qualifiers will come to an end on Monday.
