This Thursday, former NBA champion Marc Gasol is expected to announce his decision to join Girona.
Gasol, who spent 13 years in the NBA and won the 2019 championship with the Toronto Raptors, will play for Girona for the remainder of the season. The veteran center is also the owner of the club.
Marc Gasol founded the club, fully named Basquet Girona, back in 2014 and the team was promoted to LEB Oro (Spanish Second Division) in 2020.
Following his return to Spain, Gasol was linked to a move to FC Barcelona, with GM Juan Carlos Navarro confirming the talks. Yet, it seems he will choose to sign with Girona.
