After all these years, there will always be love for the Chicago Bulls on the side of Steve Kerr.

Before the Bulls faced the Golden State Warriors on Friday, Kerr expressed his deep appreciation of the Windy City, saying that he will continue to cheer for them and he is delighted to see the franchise emerging as a “real contender”.

“I’m happy for the Bulls. I still cheer for them all these years later … they’re becoming a real contender so that’s exciting.”

After the loss to the Warriors, the Bulls now have an 8-4 card. Still, they are poised as an exciting team moving forward under the leadership of Zach LaVine and DeMar DeRozan.

Kerr was an integral piece of the Chicago Bulls dynasty in the 90s, helping the organization win three-straight titles from 1996 to 1998. A backup point guard behind starter and defensive specialist Ron Harper, he was a three-point sniper and a clutch performer, who is notable for his championship-clinching jumper against the Utah Jazz in Game 6 of the 1997 NBA Finals.

He carried the glory he gained from the Bulls all the way to the Bay area as a lead tactician, guiding the Dubs to five consecutive Finals appearances and winning three trophies from them in the last decade.

Kerr is indeed having that Midas touch whenever he goes, but he will always credit and give love to the place it all started for him in tasting what winning is about.
