FC Bayern Munich will face AS Monaco Basket on Friday night EuroLeague action. The German Cup holders are hoping to get the upper hand in the first competitive matchup between the two teams.

With the game against the French club, Bayern is entering a tough week of consecutive games as they face Niners Chemnitz on Sunday, before heading back home for games against Fenerbahce and Panathinaikos.

As for Monaco, the EuroLeague newcomers started the season with several inspirational moments, being in the eighth place after eight EuroLeague rounds.

“Monaco is super athletic, a very talented, really deep squad – plus Mike James. I am therefore not at all surprised by their results so far because they have everything, in addition to athleticism and depth, above all, size. It will be a very difficult game, like every game in the EuroLeague, especially away from home,” head coach Andrea Trinchieri said.

Bayern is coming off a close-fought loss (76-80) to Real Madrid at home. At the same time, Monaco could not handle Olympiacos second-half dominance to concede a 65-86 loss during EuroLeague’s round 8.
